Entrance
There are two main entrances to the National Park: Plitvice Lakes Entrance 1 (Rastovača) and Entrance 2 (Hladovina). Both of them are located on the D1 (Državna Cesta 1), the national highway in Croatia. You will see them on the east side of the road, on your right side if you are arriving from the direction from Zagreb, or on the left side if you are arriving from the south (from Zadar or from Split). Bus stops and parking are right next to both entrances.
We would recommend visitors to get to Entrance 1, as it is located just off the main road. The parking is just next to that entrance as well as the main bus stop. However, it is the most popular entrance so in the high season, it is often overcrowded.

Do you need to buy tickets in advance for Plitvice Lakes?
Tickets can be purchased in advance at least 2 days prior to arrival. You can also buy your entry tickets at the Park, but with the risk that they will not be available because the number of tickets per hour is limited because of possible overcrowding. As Plitvice Lakes is one of the most popular sights in Croatia it is recommended to buy the tickets for the park online, well in advance. Select the date and time when you want to visit the Park and order your tickets online – they will arrive in just a few minutes.
Opening Hours
The park is open every day, all year round. Opening hours change depending on the weather, particularly in the winter months (December to February), when days are very short and often snowy.
