Dubrovnik Airport to Old Town

Getting from Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) to Old Town involves at least 4 options – you can get there by shuttle bus, local bus, taxi, or private transfer. The distance between Dubrovnik Airport (Cilipi) and the centre of the old city is 20 kilometres (12.5 miles).

How to get from Dubrovnik Airport to the old town?

The fastest and most comfortable option to reach Dubrovnik city centre is by local taxi or Uber. The cheapest option is the local shuttle bus by Platanus. Other options, including a small boat/ferry, are indirect travel, involving one change (at Cavtat). Here are all the details:

From Dubrovnik Airport by shuttle bus

There is a frequent bus service departing from the main arrivals terminal building of Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) to Dubrovnik Old Town, stopping at several spots all the way to the main ferry port and central bus station (map). The service is run by the local company Platanus. A one-way ticket costs 10 Euros, and the journey time is 25 minutes. You can buy your ticket online, at the arrival terminal, look for a kiosk next to the baggage claim or pay the bus driver.

Where to get the shuttle bus?
Upon landing at the airport, you will find the shuttle bus parked in front of the airport’s arrival terminal as soon as you exit the airport building. Look for the white bus with the Platanus logo.

What are operation hours?
The shuttle bus operates every day during the airport operating hours, which are 04:30 to 24:00.

From Dubrovnik Airport by taxi or Uber

The taxi ranks at the Airport are located just outside the arrival terminal very close to the main exit. Approach the taxis that are waiting outside the terminal and start your journey. Taxis operate the same hours as the airport – 06:00 to 24:00.

A taxi from Dubrovnik Airport to the city centre or Old Town costs around 30 Euro. The journey time is about 20 minutes (depending on traffic).

The Uber quote to me is 27 euros (see the above photo) – it works out as the cheapest and fastest solution especially if 2 or 3 people travel together and are in a hurry, aiming to the ferry port to catch a ferry to one of the islands (see all timetables @ croatiaferries.com website)

There is no public transportation from Dubrovnik Airport to the city centre. A privately run Airport shuttle bus is the most convenient and cheaper way than a taxi.
